- This beloved
classic features the courageous orphan Oliver who dares to plead for
more food at the workhouse, which enrages Mr. Bumble who then sells
the boy to an undertaker. Oliver runs away from the coffins and meets
Artful Dodger who hooks him up with a group of street kids trained to
be pickpockets by an elderly mentor. Trouble abounds for them.

as the play
dons the Red Barn Theatre stage Wednesday July 30th
through Saturday August 9th.
The book, lyrics and music by Lionel Bart is the story based on Charles
Dickens novel Oliver Twist of
an orphan who is sold to the undertaker from the orphanage after
asking for more food. Running
away from the undertaker puts Oliver alone on the streets.
His fateful meeting of the Artful Dodger and Fagin lead him with
other street boys to lives of crime and trouble. The Director is Kathy
Fladten with John Dutmer as Musical Director.
Musical numbers that may be familiar are Food,
Glorious, Food, Where is Love?, Consider Yourself, and I’d Do
Anything.
Lee Pisa is cast as Oliver, Ed Krajewski as Mr. Bumble, the orphanage
Beadle, Ed Martin the Artful Dodger, Jeff Martin as Fagin, Tim Accola as
Bill Sykes, Jaimie Arnold as Nancy, Holly Wiesner as Widow Corney,
Tzeitel Dutmer as Bet and choreography. Kevin
Freitag plays
Noah Claypole, Mary Hankins as Mrs. Sowerberry, Dave Mickelson as Mr.
Sowerberry, Jon Thurs as Charles Bates, and Doug Johnson as Dr. Grimwig.
Fagin’s Gang members
are played by: Emma Martin, Matt Bihrle, Sam Bissin, Gia Capra, Mia
Penzkover, Shane Pisa, and
Tanner Richie. Cast members with minor roles as well as chorus
performances include: Ali Strickland, Taylor Wiesner,
Donna Gagner, Shannon Sauer, Amanda Arnold, Teygaen Hartman, Katie
Bissen, Emily Bissen, Jessica Buchman, Rachel Evans, Annie
Thurs, Rachel Westberg, Ross Weinert.
Rounding out the large cast are the workhouse gang including: Hannah
Arrigoni, Madelyne Arrigoni, Sarah Bissen, Katelyn Baribeau,
Cailin Capra, Catherine Krance, Abby Fjelstad, Gabrielle Engel, Madeline
Loew, and Holly Reid.
