On Golden Pond

The
award winning play On Golden Pond
graced the Red Barn Theatre
stage
Wednesday June 1 through 11.
On Golden Pond is a love story of Ethel and Norman Thayer as they return to
their summer home on Golden Pond in Maine for the 48th year.
Norman Thayer, Jr. played by Bill Koslofsky is an older professor with
heart palpitations and a failing memory. Meg
Atkins portrays Ethel, younger wife of 10 years,
who delights in the small things of life.
Jeff Martin plays Charlie Martin, the mailman.
They are visited by their divorced, middle-aged daughter Chelsea played
by Mary Hankins
with
her fiance Billy Ray, cast member Tommy Yousten.
Announcing a trip to Europe they are leaving his teenage son young Billy
Ray played in alternate performances by Tanner Ritchie and Lee Pisa with Norman
and Ethel for the summer. Through
the summer the boy becomes the “grandchild” they have always longed for, and
through their experiences
together Ethel and Norman realize the importance of time and family.
Holly Wiesner, recent graduate of UW Parkside with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in
Theatre Arts, directs this show. Holly
has been active in the Red Barn Theatre since childhood as she is a third
generation Wiesner to act and
direct. Previously her grandmother
Maxine and her father Terry both worked with Nina Klauss, the founder .
They continued to contribute their
talents
and now Terry and Holly carry on the tradition.
