​​The Red Barn Theatre will give audiences more laughter and entertainment with “The Savannah Sipping Society,”  running July 30–August 9.  Playwrights Jones, Hope, and Wooten have collaborated once again for a touching comedy about four Southern women who bond over impromptu happy hours and life’s challenges.  Veteran director Terry Wiesner directs this small, but mighty cast who are all from Rice Lake.  The storyline  explores themes of friendship and community and also about finding joy after loss. The versatile Wiesner is also designing and building the set.

 

The play centers around Randa Covington, a workaholic played by Kristi Gay.  Also part of the group is  recently widowed Dot Haigler portrayed by Jill Stearns and boisterous Texan Marlafaye Mosley played by Kate Worzala.   Jinx Jenkins, a life coach who helps them navigate their individual struggles is portrayed by Sarah Church.  Gail Gifford rounds out the cast with a non-speaking role.  Gifford is also the Stage Manager for this show.
