Grease

 

 July 7-18, 2015 

 

Grease, the Rock and Roll musical, written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey sings and dances onto the Red Barn Theatre stage July 7th through July 18th.

 

Back to Rydell High School in 1959 the “Burger Palace Boys” are acting tough while the “Pink Ladies” look hot in their bobby socks and pedal pushers. These rebellious high school seniors want to make their last school year memorable.

 

Directed and choreographed by Cathy Jones Wolf with musical director John Dutmer we meet the characters through song and dance.  Sandy Dumbrowski, a new girl in town, played by Kayla Young ,met Danny Zuko  hot rod gangster, played by Matthew Mikunda, meet in the summer developing a secret romance.  When they return to school peer pressure and cliques make their romance complicated.

We meet the “Burger Palace Boys”, Doody, Roger, Kenickie and Sonny played by Garrett Solum, Logan Melgosa, Mitchell Dvorak, Bennett Koenitzer  and “The Pink Ladies” Jan, Marty, Betty Rizzo, and Frenchy played by Bryn Radamaker,

Callie Hilbert, Kamryn Hoff, and Maggie Klonowski.

Other characters include:  Miss Lynch played by Carol Hougdahl, Patty Simcox, by Haley Hong-Johnson, Eugene Florczyk by Matt Koenitzer, Vince Fontaine by Tommy Youston and Brandon Brown, Cha-Cha DiGregorio by Anna Johnston,  Johnny Casino and Teen Angel by Jackson Liedl.

Familiar musical numbers will include  Summer Nights, Look at Me, I’m Sandra Dee, Grease Lightnin, Beauty School Dropout, You’re the One that I Want.
